Within our selection you will find Fairtrade, ethically conscious, vegan, gluten-free, wheat-free and biodynamic foods.   Our Store’s central location provides easy access, and offers excellent transport links to the rest of London. ​Having taken over from the well known and long established ‘Bushwacker Wholefoods’, Health Defence continues a legacy of raising the health consciousness level of the community by bringing high quality, dependable, ethically sourced whole foods to our Hammersmith community store. Ruth Wallace Owner and Shop Manager ​I’ve shopped at the former healthstore, Bushwacker Wholefoods, all my life.  Taking over from the previous owners is a life-time achievement for me.  I fully appreciated and respected their ethos, and rather than changing things, I want to build on what they’ve already achieved, particularly when eating ‘organic’ wasn’t fashionable over 40 years ago (!). I want to provide further support for the community to improve their health and life chances, utilising health focused education.  I’ve come from a health background, and have come to know many health educators keen to contribute to improving well-being in their communities.  With live and on-line Health events planned for 2024, they will be opportunities for us to engage with our local community in a purposeful way, and enable them to benefit from support to embark on a healthier lifestyle.  I see Health Defence Organics future as not just a shop, but a ‘Community Health-Hub’
